ExperCare Welcomes J. David Carson, MD

ExperCare Urgent Care welcomes Savannah native J. David Carson, M.D. as Director of Occupational Medicine and Associate Medical Director at the Richmond Hill and Savannah locations.

Dr. Carson’s experience includes more than 18 years of clinical practice in Occupational Medicine, including 10 years at Industrial Medicine, P.C. in Savannah.

Prior to beginning his Occupational Medicine practice, Dr. Carson practiced Emergency Medicine for 22 years, including working 14 years in the Emergency Department at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, where he served as Medical Director.

“Dr. Carson understands that Occupational Medicine requires doing what’s best for the patient as well as interacting with their employer to attain the best possible outcome,” Catherine Grant, founding partner of ExperCare, said in the announcement. “Employers can look forward to experienced, knowledgeable Occupational Healthcare at ExperCare. Dr. Carson focuses on rendering medical care that maximizes rapid recovery and minimizes time away from work.” ExperCare Urgent Care was founded in 2009 as The Urgent Care Center of Richmond Hill and recently announced it was opening its new location in Savannah.

Dr. Carson received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

He spent three post-graduate years in the General Surgery residency program at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta, after which he was an Emergency Department staff physician at Dekalb General Hospital in Decatur. Dr. Carson was later named Dekalb County Fire Surgeon, the official title for the Medical Director of DeKalb County Emergency Medical Services.
